All you have to do is get on a boat and watch other boats appear because of the curvature. First you see the tops of their mast, then as you get closer you see their sail, and finally, when they are close enough, you see their hull. This could not happen on a flat surface. Getting people to believe false stuff is gas lighting them, to get them more disconnected from reality, because when they don't know what's what anymore, you can more easily convince them what you want them to believe is true.
