Bitchute is better than Rumble, since Rumble is in the Blackrock and State Street pocket. Bitchute has made an effort to remain free of those influences.
Odysee is better than Bitchute, since it is distributed and much harder to censor or take down. Also, Odysee can host your websites for free, and they also will be distributed and hard to take down or censor.
Bastyon and Brighteon both use the pocketnet network, which is another distributed social media platform, which makes it resistant to censorship and take down. It also is moderated by its own community, I.e., people who have built up their reputation, which comes from other users voting on their content. So there's no top-down control system there. They've also got a crypto coin and a real word market site where you can spend the coins for real word private property. When CBCD's or their ugly cousin Stable Coins come online and people have to flee those control grids, they can turn to places like the pocketnet network to purchase their essential things like food, etc. They also encrypt their network, so it's resistant to surveillance. And if you use the app, you can still reach the network if they take down the world's DNS servers.
MeWe is another censorship free social media platform, where users join groups that cover various topics and interests, with each group having one or more moderators. The problem here are the groups become echo chambers, where users no longer encounter opposing views, because those people are kicked from the group.
Mastadon is a free, open-source, distributed social media platform, a lot like X. However, I know of only one hosted platform that is truly censorship free.
Then there's noster, which has a ton of apps that access it for each OS or device. It's distributed and difficult to take down or censor. It's like X, where you follow people so you can see the content they post. Some apps let you tap into the global feed, which can be spammy since many countries around the world use it, so posts will be in foreign languages. But I'm rather liking noster quite a bit. The best Windows desktop app for it is called nostrmo.
Lastly I'll add I2P, which is like a separate internet that has connections to the internet. It's very encrypted and secure, with lots of anti-surveillance hedges and guards. It probably provides the most privacy and security of anything available, but not so easy for the masses to shift into.
Many choices are good. I make free-speech more difficult to take down. So having places like WW or librti, even though they are vulnerable to being taken down because they are single servers, are still nice to have around since more options means more places to fall back upon.
